Introduction to Beihai Park
the Liao Dynasty and continued to be expanded and renovated from the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Throughout the different dynasties Behai Park was a beautiful imperial garden used only by the imperial family. Located in Central Beijing, Beihai Park covers a surface are of 71.4 hectares of which half is water. The layout and design of Beihai Park was based upon a legendary story known as “The Rise of the East Sea”. Whilst touring the elegant Behai Park you will find that it is divided into four sections known as: Qiongdao Island, North Shore, East Shore and the Botanical Garden. |
