Shanhaiguan Great Wall

Introduction to Hefei Pedestrian Street (合肥淮河路步行街)

Hefei Pedestrian Street is located in Huaihe Road in Luyang District and is one of the oldest and busiest street in Hefei. Hefei Pedestrian Street is a multifunctional commercial center for culture, food, shopping and entertainment, like most pedestrian streets in other cities of China. High-end shopping malls stand along with a large number of stores and stalls selling local goods. However, there is something interesting about Hefei Pedestrian Street. You can find several tourist attractions in this region, making it more convenient for tourists.

Former Residence of Li Hongzhang
Li Hongzhang was a leading statesman of the late Qing Dyanasty who held key posts for forty years, traveling far and wide across East Asia and West Europe. He was referred to as “the first man to advocate the open-door policy in China”. Li’s former residence is just located on the Huaihe Road. It is the largest existing and best preserved former residence in Hefei.

Mingjiao Temple
Mingjiao Temple is located on the east section of the Huaihe Road of Hefei. Originally built in the Southern Dynasty, it has a history of over 1,700 years. The Mingjiao Temple is an important temple in China. The architecture of the compound consists of the Buddha Halls, Sutra House and Xixiangyuan Garden. There are a main hall and a rear hall, housing over 30 Buddhist statues.

Xiaoyaojin Park
Located on the Shouchun Road in Luyang District, Xiaoyaojin Park is a beautiful park with various recreation facilities. It was also an ancient battlefield in the Three Kingdoms period and regarded one of the top 10 scenic spots in Hefei. Popular with local visitors, Xiaoyaojin Park gets very crowded on weekends and holidays.
