Introduction to Avenue of Stars (星光大道)
The Avenue of Stars was constructed to commemorate and honour the dedicated professionals of Hong Kong’s film industry. It features plaques for honoured movie celebrities on the walk of fame. It also features milestones and sculptures about Hong Kong film industry, along with kiosks selling souvenirs.
Located along Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade the Avenue of Stars was officially opened to the public in 2004 and the project cost a staggering HK$40 million and was supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. At night you can also watch "A Symphony of Lights" from the promenade.
The 440 meter long promenade has over 100 handprints of some of Hong Kong's biggest superstars! Apart from the celebrity hand print spotting vistors can capture the cosmopolitan view of Hong Kong skycrapers and at night you can even catch a glimpse of the laser beam show that surely lights up the harbor at nightfall. Now with so much entertainment to offer the Avenue of Stars is one of the top Hong Kong places to visit and take photos.
