Huoshan Park

 Shanghai Attractions

Park is located in Hongkou District, the gate near the mount of the intersection of Zhoushan Road and Huoshan Road, covers an area of 3,700 square meters. After the liberation in 1950, the government built the park, and open to the public free of charge in the same year.

The parents of the Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin were buried in the park. There are some other Jewish cemeteries in Huoshan Park, and Rabin once said that he would like to buy this park when he paid a visit to Shanghai in 80's, but after he was been assassinated in 1995, the matter dropped.

Jews in Shanghai often gathered at this park to have rest. Today the park is open to the public for leisure, hawkers at the doorway selling kebabs, old people doing exercise, it's nice to place to go.
