Introduction to Longquan Temple (龙泉寺)

Beijing Longquan Monastery or also known as Longquan Temple is situated in Haidian District. The monastery dates back to the Liao Dynasty and since 2014 has been regenerated by Master Xuecheng. Longquan Monastery offers Buddhist education and temple experience in both Chinese and English. The monastery has been famous for its robot Monk Xian’er which has become the monastery mascot and its technological renovation with the use of iPads and modern technology. Apart from the modernity of the monastery it has still managed to reserve its history and traditional Buddhist culture.

Strolling through the courtyard of the monastery you will there are two ginkgo trees that are over a thousand years old which have been part of the monastery since it was first constructed. There is also the Golden Dragon Bridge which is reputed as the oldest stone arch bridge in Beijing.
