Macau Science Center

The Macau Science Center is a science-themed museum in Macau. It was designed by world-famous Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei and was opened in 2009. The Science Center covers an area of 23,000 square meters. With its objectives to popularize science and get it interactive with the public, the Science Center has integrated functions of science education, exhibition and convention.

The Macau Science Center is consisted of Exhibition Center, Planetarium and Convention Center. At the Exhibition Center, there are 12 galleries with permanent exhibitions and two galleries for special exhibitions. At the Planetarium, tourists can watch interesting 3D films and documentations about space exploration.

The Science Center is not only a hot tourist spot in Macau, but also a landmark of Macau because of its outstanding design and structure. It has a distinctive asymmetrical shape. With its main con-shaped exterior, the Science Center has a spiral walkway and a large atrium inside. Its exterior is dressed with silvery aluminized steel sheets and glass curtain.
