Introduction to Macau Wine Museum (澳门葡萄酒博物馆)

The Macau Wine Museum is a special museum that is specialized in introducing the social, economic and cultural importance of the wine in the Portuguese tradition, daily life and celebration rituals. It is the only one of its kind in Asia. The museum is located just next to the Macau Grand Prix Museum in the Tourist Activity Center of Macau. The museum was inaugurated on December 25, 1995 and has an occupation of 1,400 square meters.

Macau Wine Museum is divided into three different areas, including Museum and Exhibitions, Historical Information, and Wine Cellar. The history of the growth of grape, the tools and utensils used for wine-making, and exhibitions of wines from Portugal, Macau and China wines are displayed at these areas. Currently it possesses a collection of more than 1,115 brands of wines including 756 commercial wines and 359 collection wines. It will be excited to see the Porto 1815, the oldest wines from Portugal.

Also different regions of Portugal are exhibited in the Museum. Inside the museum, there is a special place for visitors to taste different types of wines. A ticket of MOP $15 will cover the price for tasting wines.

Admission for Macau Wine Museum:

MOP$15 for adults (a taste of wines is included).

MOP$5 for children from 10 to 18 years old.

Free for children less than 10 years old and seniors more than 60 years old.

Opening Hours:10:00AM – 6:00PM (Closed on Tuesdays)

Travel Tips

1. It is not recommended to visit there during “May 1st” and “October 1st” these two golden vacation weeks. Because at that time, the hotel reservation and transportation will be in its climax, the price will be much higher than ordinary times.

2. The Macau Wine Museum is near the Macau Fisherman's Wharf and Macau Grand Prix Museum.
