Introduction to Mount Qingcheng (青城山)
Mount Qingcheng is the birth place of Taoism and is one of the great mountains of Taoism in China. It is situated in Dujiangyan of Sichuan Province, about 68 kilometers northwest of Chengdu. The mountain is consisted of 36 peaks and has an elevation of 1,260 meters above sea level. With its lush forests and woods, Mount Qingcheng boasts as “the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven”. With its long history and religious background, Mount Qingcheng also attracts tourists for the many historical and cultural relics there. In 2,000, Mount Qingcheng was listed as one of the UNESCO World’s Heritage Sites. |
