Introduction to Ramoche Monastery (小昭寺) Ramoche Monastery is located northwest of Lhasa and is one of the key attractions of Tibet. The monastery was originally built for Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty who married King Songtsän Gampo of Tibet. The original temple design exhibited Tang architecture and was built facing the east to express the homesickness of Princess Wencheng. The temple is considered the sister temple of Jokhang Temple which is about 500 meters away.
