Introduction to West Wuzhumuqin Grassland (西乌珠穆沁草原)
West Wuzhumuqin Grassland is not only the best preserved pasture in the Xilin Gol Grassland but also the typical of grassland in China.consisting of marshlands, grasslands, sand dunes, and wetlands, West Wuzhumuqin Grassland (Xilingol Grassland) is reputed as the grassland paradise and most beautiful grassland in the northern China.
The equivalent of Wuzhumuqin in Mongolian language is "grape pickers", a tribe which resided in the present border between northern Xinjiang and Mongolia as early in the 13th century. Later in 17th century, they moved to Wuzhumuqi.
West Wuzhumuqin Grassland is a typical temperate grassland which features marshlands, grassland, wetlands and sand dunes. It has been recognised as the most beautiful pasture in northern China.
