Introduction to Wudangzhao Monsastery (五当召)
Wudangzhao Monastery is located 70 kilometers northeast of Baotou city and gained its name due to its location in Wudang Alley. The monastery is said to be the largest and best preserved Lama monastery in Inner Mongolia which dates back to the Qing Dynasty. Built in 1749 the outer architecture was modeled upon Tashilhunpo Lamasery of Shigatse in Tibet. |
