Jinshanling Great Wall Introduction Jinshanling Great Wall, located in Luanping County of Hebei Province, is one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall. It was first built during the Ming Dynasty, but has not been repaired since the year of 1570. Thus, Jinshanling Great Wall is noted for its original features and looks. The Great Wall of Jinshanling Section lies on the ranges of Big and Small Jinshanling, and this is how it got its name. Built with brick and stone, Jinshanling is quite strong and solid. It stretches a length of 10 kilometers from the mighty Wangjinglou Tower in the east to the Longyukou in the west. It has an elevation of 700 meters with the highest place being the Wangjinglou Tower where you can get views of Beijing. Jinshanling Great Wall was constructed into a complete military defense project with more than 100 watchtowers, passes and beacon towers. What’s amazing is that different towers in Jinshanling have different structures and appearances. In addition to the magnificent views of the walls and towers, Jinshanling also pictures charming natural beauties. It enjoys great scenery at the four different seasons. Especially the remarkable view of cloud sea to catch in early mornings of spring and summer, and rainbows after rain are really spectacular. Because of its remote and isolated location, Jinshanling has relatively small amount of tourists. But it is a great place for the hiking and exploration of the Great Wall. You will enjoy stunning views and peaceful hiking there. |
