Tie Dyed production
Tie-dyeing is an old Chinese textile dyeing technique. Nowadays this traditional technique is still popular in Zhoucheng Village, Dali City in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture and some places in Weishan Yi and Hui autonomous county. The Zhoucheng Bai Nationality tie-dyeing technique is the most famous and the area was named 'the Land for National Tie-dye' by China Culture Administration.

The materials used are white pure cotton or white fabric of cotton and flax. The colorant of dyeing is indigo - blue extracted from dyeing -yielding herbs. The procedures include designing, painting, tying with thread, dip - dyeing, removing thread, poaching and trimming. Blue and dotted with white flowers, the cloth looks elegant and vivid. The patterns of the cloth are usually the ordinary flowers, birds, insects and fish.

Shining Wall
The “shining wall” is said to be called this because of its ability to reflect outside light. These walls serve as the passage for light into the house. It is the wall situated in front of the house’s main room. It also connects the three main rooms in the house where the shining wall is the façade of the central room; thereby forming an inner courtyard for the house. Using lime, this wall has inscriptions on screens made out of marble.

Weddings of the Bai Ethnic Group
In the wedding of the Bai ethnic group, you can find the bride wearing dressed with elegant dressings, and red coronet with yellowish green fluffy balls on the head. A small mirror is hung around her neck to exorcise an evil spirit and show the couple has mutual affinity. In addition, it is a custom that a bride has to wear sunglasses to exorcise the demon.
