Pastels de nata

One sweet treat that is definitely not to be missed is the pasteis de nata, or Portuguese egg-custard tart. Curiously enough, the iconic version in Macau was perfectted by an Englishman, Andrew Stow, in 1989. The original Lord Stow’s Bakery shop on Coloane Town Square now sells more than 3,000 of them each day, and franchise operations have been opened up all over Asia.
