Introduction to Dragon Palace (龙宫) Dragon Palace is located in Longtan Village, Anshun city of Guizhou province. It is about 45 kilometers away from Anshun city center and 1160 kilometers away from Guiyang city, the provincial capital of Guizhou province. Dragon Palace is national key tourist attraction famous for its unique karst landforms, including karst cave, in-cave waterfall, stone forests, underground river, stalactite and stalagmite. Dragon Palace is crowned as "the wonder of nature" by tourists. Dragon Palace Scenic Area is consisted of four parts, the Rape Lake, the Whirlpool, the Leech Pass, and the Dragon Palace itself. The whole scenic area covers a land of about 60 square kilometrs. Around the Dragon Palace is the place where has the most dry and wet caverns in the world. There are more than 90 caverns of different sizes distributed at this place. In the center of Dragon Palace, there are scenic sites of Sleeping Dragon Lake, Guest-receiving Cave, Dragon Gate Flying Waterfall, Heavenly Lake, the Dragon's Pool and other sites. Dragon Palace is actually an underground water-eroded cave as long as 15 kilometers. Inside the cave, there are numerous stalactites of different sizes and postures, vivid and exquisite. And these stalactites and stone forests add airs of peculiarity and mystery to the cave. There is the Avalokitesvara Cave which is a natural cave temple as large as 20,000 square kilometers with natural cavern as the chamber, natural stalactites and 32 artificial Buddha statutes. The waterfall at Dragon Gate in the mouth of a cave is quite magnificent with waters flying down from the Heavenly Lake. Tourists can enjoy the splendid views inside the cave by taking a boat. |
