Introduction to Chenghuang Bazaar
Chenghuang Bazaar, also known as City God Temple, which is Shanghai city tourist attractions, the place to offer sacrifices to local deities, who were mostly honest and outstanding officials that have rendered grand favors to people in their lives. Shanghai City God Temple is shared today by Huo Guang in the front hall and the god of Shanghai city Qin Yubo consecrated in the back hall. This is a rare phenomenon in the country, which is popularly referred to as “two city gods sharing the same temple”. |
