(Huang Fei-Hong Memorial Hall)(Foshan)

Huang Fei-Hong Memorial Hall
Huang Fei-Hong Memorial Hall

Wong Fei-hung (Huang Feihong) Memorial Hall is located in the north part of the Ancestral Temple, covering an area of more than five thousand square meters. The completion ceremony of Huangfeihong Memorial Hall was held on January 14, 2001.  The building is modeled after the wok-handle fire-walled house of the Qing Dynasty. It reproduces the style of folk residence and ancestral temple when Huang Feihong – the great martial master was alive. The building is divided into a show room. Huang Feihong Cinema, a hall and patio for practicing Wushu, all of these represent the charism of the great master to the life.

The memorial hall architecture reflects the ancient Chinese architecture , especially the traditions of Lingnan style ancient buildings, the preservation of the traditional courtyard -style residential building codes from the beams, column bases, brick, cornices, screens, doors and windows to steeplechase and other building components in order to preserve the historical charm.

The Huang Fei Hong memorial building exhibits Foshan ancestral architectural styles. The memorial hall is the main building where you need to step on the stone steps to enter. Yanwu Hall is a two-story, two sided structure. Yanwu hall has large wooden Qing Dynasty that are a symbol of wealth and good fortune. The interior windows are traditional Manchu windows with wood carving flower vine wrapped with colored glass that could be opened. The Manchu windows was high-end decor during the Qing Dynasty and was a dominant feature in Lingnan architecture.

The support facilities include the statue booth of "ten Wushu masters of Guangdong province" and Huang Feihong Park as well as traditional performances such as Gongfu, "dragon-playing" and "lion-playing", etc, which will be duly performed from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All these performances are attractive to many domestic and overseas tourists. In addition, there are Huang Feihong screen and video town, Huang Feihong Wushu school and Huang Feihong Wushu village.
