Introduction to Volga Manor (伏尔加庄园)
Volga Manor is located in Xiangfang District of Harbin and covers an estimated 600,000 square meters of land. There over 30 Russian style buildings within the area and is praised as the best place to see Russia without leaving Harbin. One of the most outstanding buildings is St. Nicholas Cathedral which is built completely of wood and is a Russian Orthodox Church. The building is a replica of the original cathedral that was built in front of Harbin Railway Station in 1899. St. Nicholas Cathedral was a landmark of Harbin for many years before it was destroyed in 1966 by Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution.
You can enjoy the scenery of the manor wandering through the paths with bridges over the water and trees dotted around the area. There are live Russian dancing performances every day and you can also enjoy Russian cuisine at the Russian restaurant. During the summer you can cycle around the manor and in winter you can try cross country skiing.

1. The average temperature in Harbin during winter is -30 degrees. You need to wrap up warm with appropriate outdoor clothing and comfortable snow boots are recommended.
