Introduction to Stanley Market (赤柱市集)

Stanley Market is a popular market town on the sunny south side of Hong Kong Island. The Stanley Market is famous for its relaxed ambience, crisp sea environs and bargain buys. The market opens seven days a week from 10:30am to 6:30pm, there attract bargain-hunters from all over the world join the fun of haggling with shopkeepers and stallholders. There are vary commodity from brand-name clothing and accessories and other souvenirs.

You will be spoiled for choice at the market besides the usual clothes and foods there are several antique shops that sell some unique items. For those looking for alternatives as souvenirs to take home there are lots of arts and crafts available that all ooze the oriental theme.

For those who are first time visiting Hong Kong  the best way to make your way to Stanley Market is by metro. First take the metro to Chai Wan station and then take the green 16M minibus that takes you right to Stanley Market.  You can also take a direct bus from Exchange Square Bus Station that takes you to Stanley Market also.

Apart from shopping there is also a range of delicious foods to try out and with so many choices to choose from you will defintiely have an appetite. There is traditional Chinese restaurants and also many western restaurant chains so there is plenty to cater to different tastes.

Transportation 

  • Take bus No. 6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 260 at Exchange Square bus terminus and get off at Stanley Market Station or Stanley Village Station.
  • When getting out from Causeway Bay Station, Exit B in subway, take bus No. 40 in Tang Lung Street and get off at Stanley Market Station.
