Introduction to Lou Lim Ieoc Garden (卢廉若公园)
Lou Lim Ieoc Garden is located in the northern territories of Macau bordering Zhuhai. The garden covers a total area of 1.78 hectares and is the only Suzhou style garden in Macau. It is said that the Lou Lim Ieoc Garden is modeled upon the famous Lion Grove Garden of Suzhou. The construction of the garden began in 1904 and took 21 years to complete. However, as the Lou Family began to lose their fortune the garden was then sold to the Macau Government who when carried out restoration in 1970s. |
