Introduction to Maritime Museum (澳门海事博物馆)
Being the oldest museum in Macau, the Maritime Museum is a major attraction to visit in Macau. It is situated in the Square of the Barra Pagoda, which was believed to be the place the first group of Portuguese set foot in Macau. The museum was inaugurated in 1987 and was put into use in 1990. Sitting next to the A-Ma Temple, the Maritime Museum that is shaped in a sailing ship resembles an imposing anchored boat in the harbor protecting the A-Ma Temple. |
