Introduction to Master Tsongkhapa Frescoes (宗喀巴大师壁画) Tsongkhapa is the founder of the Gelug Buddhism and is also a Buddhism theorist. The Gelug Buddhism was founded based on theories by Tsongkahapa. He has made great contribution to the development of Buddhism by his teaching, writing, theory studies and scriptures. At the same time he left precious legacy like his volumes of teaching and scriptures when he passed away. The Master Tsongkhapa Frescoes refer to those exquisite frescoes preserved in Taer Lamasery. These frescoes were created by different themes. Some were painted on cloth, some were on the wall, some were on woods. These frescoes are created a little exaggerated by more importantly they are vivid and lively. Now these exquisite frescoes are not only precious artworks to be enjoyed, but also great for the study of Buddhism. |
