Introduction to Reed Flute Cave (芦笛岩)
The Reed Flute Cave is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Guilin and visiting the Reed Flute Cave is an indispensable part of a Guilin tour for most tourists. The cave is located in the northwest suburbs of Guilin, about five kilometers from the downtown area. Reed Flute Cave derives its name from a kind of flutes growing outside which can be made into melodious flutes. This cave is about 240 meters long and it usually takes one hour to enjoy the spectacles in the cave.
Reputed as “Nature’s Art Palace”, the Reed Flute Cave with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations is really worth seeing. The many variations of the rock formations are really impressive. You may find some rocks are in the shape of monkeys while others are in lions or men. These peculiar formations under the illumination of colorful lights gives tourists visual satisfaction as well as stimulates their imagination. The most famous formations in the cave are Crystal Palace, Dragon Pagoda, Virgin Forest, Flower and Fruit Mountain.

These inscriptions tells that the cave has been an attraction in Guilin since ancient times.
