Introduction to Songzanlin Lamasery (松赞林寺)
Songzanlin Lamasery, also called Guihua Monastery, is the largest Tibetan Buddhism monastery in Yunnan Province, and enjoys the reputation as "little Potala Palace", attracting millions of tourists from China and other countries every year. This is a fane named by the fifth Dalai which bailments the purest soul of Shangri-La people. People light the candles and fire pine branches devoutly. Eternal ghee lamps light the Buddhist hall and the lections are always recited here. |

Travel Tips 1. Recommended duration for a visit is about three to five hours. 2. The best time to visit there is from March to May and September to November. 3. It is not recommended to visit there during “May 1st” and “October 1st” these two golden vacation weeks. At that time, Guilin with suitable weather will meet a lot of tourists, so the hotel reservation and transportation will be in its climax, the price will be much higher than ordinary times. |
