Introduction to Oriental Pearl Tower(东方明珠塔)
The Oriental Pearl Tower is one of the top landmarks of Shanghai, located along the prestigious Lijiazui of Pudong New Area by the Huangpu River directly opposite The Bund. Between 1994 – 2007 The Oriental Pearl Tower was the tallest building in China high at 468 meters. This record was then broken by the Shanghai World Financial Center in 2007. The Oriental Pearl Tower is made up of three spheres known as the Space Module, Upper sphere and lower sphere. The tower faces the historical European buildings along The Bund across the Huangpu River. |
