Introduction to Zhujiajiao Water Town (朱家角)

Zhujiajiao Water Town is located in Shanghai’s Qingpu District and is a popular tourist attraction of Shanghai. Zhujiajiao Water Town has a history of over 1,500 years and is situated to the south of the Yangtze River, which led to the creation of the ancient water town. The town is only one hour by bus from downtown Shanghai. To escape the busy cities and traffic, Zhujiajiao ancient town is an ideal option. There are well preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, old stone bridges and picturesque streets. The top attractions of Zhujiajiao Water Town are Fangsheng Bridge, Lang Bridge, North Street and Kezhi Garden. 

There are many native products that must be tried such as rose flavored fermented bean curd, dark rice dumplings, roasted soybeans and meat dumplings in Zhujiajiao town. In autumn there are also fresh water crabs from Dianshan Lake.
