798 Art District 


 Located in the Dashanzi area, Chaoyang  District in northwest Beijing, the 798 Art District is a complex of  decommissioned military factory buildings from the 1950s that now houses a  thriving artistic community. The unique architectural appearance of the old  military factory buildings make this place a must visit site as it is Beijing’s  main contemporary art gallery.

789 Art Festival


 There’s a lot to see during the 798 Art  Festival. To expand the influence of modern art, Beijing established the 798  Art Festival in 2006. The festival begins at the end of April and finishes and  the end of May. There is also the Beijing 798 Creative Art Festival which is celebrated  in September and ends in October. During the festival, professional curators  and artists worldwide are invited to display their works in the artistic zone,  and also to promote international artistic communication and cooperation.

With its diverse and cutting-edge art  forms, the 798 Festival has attracted visitors from all over the world to catch  a glimpse of the unique venue. Apart from holding its own art festival the 798  Art District also hosts events for art exhibitions, fashions shows and other  artistic events. If possible, time your visit to the 798 Art Festival in spring  or the 798 Creative Art Festival in fall. You won’t be disappointed.
