Li and Miao Cuisine in Bing Lang Gu, Sanya

When come to a strange place, one cannot miss the local specialties in addition to the beautiful scenery. This trip to Sanya, I have collected some photos of local cuisine in Bing Lang Gu.

Yellow Emperor Chili 
There is basically a small bottle of yellow pepper sauce in every Hainan restaurant, which is the famous Hainan chilli sauce. Yellow Emperor Chili grows only in the south of Hainan Island, in golden color, with the shape of the lanterns, hence also known as Yellow Lantern Chili. It is said that the pungency degree of Yellow Emperor Chili up to 150 000 spiciness units, and is the real king of pepper in the world.

When passing by, the Li Nationality guy just took the hot Baked Chicken with Soil from the furnace, scented, I couldn’t help went to take a look at the chicken, although I was hurry up to the hotel.

Five-Feet Pig
There was Five-Feet Pig Barbecue to eat in the first day’s dinner party. Five-Feet Pig is also known as the Xiang Pig. This name was used by Wuzhishan people to call their local former pigs. Such pig has thick-skinned meat, succulent fruit, fresh and tasty, aromatic flavor, no matter in barbecue or hot pot is good flavor.

Five-color Rice
Annual March 3 of Lunar New Year, Miao and Li people dressed up to celebrate the festival. Every family makes the five-color rice, which is also one of Hainan Miao specialties, in the purpose of commemorate the five Miao ancestors. The Miao people dip the rice into black, red, green, and yellow four colors with plant leaves, then cook with the normal rice (white color).

Tropical fruits
Located in the tropical seaside, Hainan is extremely rich in fruit species. Apart from the ubiquitous mango, banana, there are also some impressive unique tropical fruits. The right side of the following figure is the emerald green fresh areca nut.

Shanlan rice wine
Visitors must taste the Shanlan rice wine when come to Hainan Li Family. Li people are good at drinking, and every family brew Shanlan rice wine of their own, which is brewed with Shanlan rice, mellow and delicious, highly nutritious.

Betel nut egg
The betel nut egg has similar color to the traditional tea-leaf eggs, but with a unique aroma of betel.

Betel smoke
Everything is relevant to areca in Bing Lang Gu (Betel Valley): areca palm, areca nut, betel nuts, Betel nut egg, as well as the betel smoke. Though I don’t smoke, but in curious to take glances. Do not underestimate this small betel smoke, which is of great use: "cool throat, protecting lung and stomach, does not contain nicotine!"
