Chengde Mountain Resort Transformed into Winter Wonderland

The Chengde Mountain Resort was the summer getaway for the emperors of the Qing Dynasty. The resort which took 89 years to complete was built from 1703 - 1792. Chengde Mountain Resort was enlisted as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1994. During winter the resort is transformed into a frozen wonderland with the surrounding forests dusted with snow and the lake is completely frozen.
