Travel from Lhasa to Shigatse with The Ancient Tangzhu Road

On July 23 2017, Qinghai Tibet Railway Corporation and autonomous district government unveiled the new name of the Lhasa to Shigatse train as “The Ancient Tangzhu Road”. The interior of the train has been designed to incorporate Tibetan elements and service has been upgraded. The train offers a range of services such as traditional Tibetan snacks, freshly ground coffee, imported beers, red wine and many other beverages. There are also baby changing facilities and a reading area for tourists. The train journey from Lhasa to Shigatse has been described as the most scenic railway route. Passengers will pass Yarlung Tsangpo River Canyon, Nimu County and Renbu County.
