Mogao Grottoes Relics at Zhejiang Art Museum


From 5th January until 16th March, Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou will exhibit cultural relics from Mogao Grottoes. The exhibition has 7 restored caves, 59 replica Buddhist wall paintings, 10 sculptures and more. All items on exhibit date back to the Tang dynasty and are great cultural relics of Dunhuang

Mogao Grottoes are located in Dunhuang of Gansu Province and is one of the largest Buddhist cave discoveries. There are a total of 492 grottoes and 2,415 cave paintings. The Mogao Grottoes was enlisted as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1987.
