Hong Kong Palace Museum to Open in 2022
On 23 December 2016 an announcement was made that the construction of Hong Kong Palace Museum would begin in 2017. The project is estimated to be worth $3.5 billion and will occupy 328,000 square meters. The museum will be made up of two exhibition halls, 400 seat theatre, activity rooms, souvenir shop and restaurant. The museum is said to be a replica of Beijing’s Palace Museum and will be located in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon District. The designers appointed to design the museum are Rocco Design Architects, the museum is scheduled to be completed by 2022.
