Train is the most suitable way to get to Tibet. By taking train, it will help your body get used to the ascending altitude gradually so that you are less likely to have altitude sickness. Plus, you get to view the remarkable sceneries along the way. There are trains to Tibet from many cities in China such as Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Lanzhou, and Xining. Train tickets can be purchased online or at the station. You will need to provide your passport info. The demand on tickets to Tibet is high on tourism season (April to October). To ensure your tickets, you can book through us. It is fast and convenient.
There are flights bound for Lhasa, but in order to minimize the effect of altitude sickness, we advise you not to take airplane directly there, in case your body cannot handle the sudden change of altitudes. However, there is another option for you in terms of flight. You can fly to Xining (altitude 2262 meters) and then take train to Lhasa. But unfortunately, the airport in Xining does not receive international flights. If you want to start your Tibet tour directly from your home country, you will have to transit at an international airport in China. The international airport in Beijing or Xi'an would be viable options as they are not far away from Xining. /dd>
