Introduction to China Snow Town (雪乡)

Snow Town, also known as Xuexiang in Chinese, is situated within the Dahailin Forest Bureau in Mudangjiang City at northeast of Heilongjiang Province in China. Snow Town was originally known as the name of Shuangfeng Forest Farm and now is noted as the first hometown of snow in China. Snow Town has a forest area of 500 hectares and is seated at an elevation of 1,500 meters above the sea level. It lies about 105 kilometers away from Changting Township and 280 kilometers from Harbin. 

Snow Town has a snow period as long as 7 months in a year and a snow thickness as deep as 2 meters. As one of the most popular tourist destination for China winter tours, Snow Town is known for its spectacular snow scenery and many interesting snow activities.

Snow Town has the most beautiful scenery when it is covered with layers of snow in winter. The views that roofs of the dwelling houses covered with thick snow forms different shapes is very attractive. You may find them in shapes of mushrooms, running horses, sleeping rabbits, and turtles, etc.

Skiing at the local ski resort is something must do in Snow Town. Riding a sledge pulled by a horse or dog, or getting a thrilling ride at snowmobile from the mountain top are also popular activities to enjoy in Snow Town. Also enjoy the fabulous scenery of sunrise in Snow Town from Yangcao Mountain, which is the highest point in Snow Town, and sightseeing at Snow Town Studio City are great things to do when traveling to Snow Town.
