Meili Snow Mountain, also called Snow Prince, is situated in the 10 kilomters northeast of Deqin County, Deqin Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It lies in the middle ranges of Hengduan Mountains, between Nujiang River and Langcang River. Meili Snow Mountain is the holy pilgrimage land for Tibetan Buddhism.

Meili Snow Mountain has a series of snow mountains. There are 13 peaks whose average elevations are more than 6,000 meters above the sea level. The main peak of Meili Snow Mountain, Kawaboge Peak, has an elevation of 6,740 meters high above the sea level and has been the highest peak in Yunnan Province.

As Meili Snow Mountain is high in the north and low in the south with the great deep valley opening to the south, air comes upward by the valley. Influenced by the monsoon, Meili Snow Mountains has distinct dry and wet seasons. Its steep and magnificent size forms a distinct vertical climate in Meili Snow Mountain. Above the snow line of 4,000 meters, the mountain is snow-covered and cloudy mist with splendid glaciers. While under the snow line, there are green and lush alpine shrub and coniferous forest distributed in the mountain slopes of glaciers. Among the forest and shrubs, there grows medicinal herbs like Fritillary and Cordyceps sinensis.
