Introduction to Taigucang Wharf (太古仓码头)

The Taigucang Wharf in Guangzhou features exotic European style architecture, fascinating waterscape, International Wine Trade Center and many other attractions. 

The Taigucang Wharf consists of three T-shaped concrete bridge piers and seven brick and wood warehouses. The total land area is 54,888 square meters and a terminal shoreline of 321 meters.

Located in Guangzhou, Haizhu District, the Taigucang Wharf Guangzhou Cina was built by the Swire Pacific Limited from 1904 to 1908 for the for CNCo companies. Taigucang Wharf was an ideal storage terminal in Guangzhou during the 1920s. In 2005, it was designated as the Guangzhou cultural relics protection units. 

After the completed construction, the agency of the black chimney Swire Pacific Limited steamship company operated the wharf, mainly the Far East, Central and South Asia as well as to and from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Haiphong (Vietnam) and other routes. There are up to 30 vessels, of which 26 cruise vessels which is around 3,000 tons berthing loading and unloading cargo in Guangzhou Pacific Wharf.

By February 24, 1953, the Guangzhou Military Control Commission was ordered to request the expropriation of Pacific Wharf. When the Taigucan Wharf became a nationalized wharf, it has been successfully operated by the Guangzhou Port and Guangzhou Port Group to this day.

Taigucang Wharf Film Library has an area of 3,000 square meters, with six auditoriums, which can accommodate 830 people; In May 2010, this Taigucang Wharf Film Libary was officially opened to the Guangzhou audience, to give us a different viewing experience: Here, visitors not only can enjoy the coolest and most unusual fashion film, but also relax themselves, taste the classic of Guangzhou.

1. Take Metro Line 2, getting off at Jiangnan Xi, leave the station via Exit A. Then take Metro Line, getting off either at Jinsha Station or Guangda Huayuan.

1. Try to avoid visiting Taigucang Wharf during the summer holidays and Golden Week in October as it will be extremely crowded.
