Introduction to Qianling Park （黔灵公园）
Located on the Qianling Mountain, northwest of Guiyang, Qianling Park is a national AAAA scenic spot and can be regarded as "No.1 Mountain in Guizhou". Qianling Park is well known for its bright mountain, beautiful water, quiet forest and ancient temple.
Here you can enjoy numerous charming attractions, such as old trees spreading their shade, the Lake rippling in the breeze, the Nine-winds Path snaking up the mountain and fish swimming in the Seven-star Lotus Pond. On the Nine-wind Path, the Chinese character “tiger” was engraved in 1860 by Zhao Dechang, a calligraphy master in Qing Dynasty. The stone inscription of about 6.2 meters high and 3.7 meters wide sufficiently illustrates the extensive and profound nature of Chinese calligraphy. During the Japanese Invasion, the two famous patriotic generals, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, had been imprisoned in the “Shuiyue Nunnery” of the park which has been preserved for display to all travelers.
You can enjoy the pleasure of harmony between human and nature. Hongfu Temple was built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty. There are many pavilions with tablets and historic sites built in Ming and Qing dynasties. Qilin cave has a history of more than five hundred years.
Qianling Mountain is not only a national famous scenic spot but also a good base for teaching and practice for its complicated geological structure and various plants. In addition, the mountain also maintains the Quaternary Ice Age relics. In April 1944, after the investigation by Li Siguang, a famous geologist, the site of Hong Fu Temple in Qianling Mountain was certified as an ice kiln of the Quaternary Ice Age relics.
