Introduction to Huangguoshu Waterfall (黄果树瀑布)
Huangguoshu Waterfall is an national 5A scenic spot in China. It is the third largest waterfalls in the world after Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. It is situated 45 kilometer southwest of Anshun City, and is about 150 kilometers northeast of Guiyang City, the provincial capital of Guizhou Province.
Huangguoshu Waterfall is famed for the greatness of its waterfall and the large waterfall group. The Huangguoshu Waterfall is the largest one among the group with the size of 67 meters' high and 101 meters' wide. Huangguoshu Waterfall is the core of the Huangguoshu Waterfalls Scenic Spot. The waterfall could be viewed from six different positions to get its magnificence, greatness and elegance.
Opposite the Huangguoshu Waterfall, there is a pavilion called Guanpu Pavilion built for the special purpose of enjoying the waterfall. While behind the great Waterfall, there stands the Water-Curtain Cave. Water-Curtain Cave is about 40 to 47 meters high with 6 specific caves. When walking in the 6 different caves in the Water-Curtain Cave, people can enjoy the scene of the water flowing down, hear the pleasant sound of the waterfall, or touch and feel the cool of the waterfall with arms stretch out, or see the green slope of Huaguoshan Mountain out from the cave.
Huangguoshu Waterfall is much more magnificent in summer when rainy season comes. At this period of July to October every year, water flows become larger, clean and transparent, and this is the best time to enjoy the beauty and spectacular of Huangguoshu Waterfall.
