2019 Harbin Ice and Snow Festival
The annual Harbin Ice and Snow Festival officially opened on January 5, 2019. One of the most popular attractions the Harbin Ice and Snow World, made with ice blocks pulled from the nearby Songhua River. The Ice and Snow World covers an area of over 600,000 square meters and this year included famous landmarks such as Yuanming Palace, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Broken Bridge of the West Lake and ice castles.
The snow Buddha sculpture which is carved every year is always located in the south and is made of more than 4,500 square cubic meters of snow. Tickets to Harbin Ice and Snow World costs 330 Yuan, there are also many free activities around town to enjoy until the end of February.
