| Chinese New Year also known as the Spring Festival is the major festival in China. Chinese New Year dates back to the Shang Dynasty (17th - 11th century BC). The date of the Spring Festival varies each year due to the Lunar Calendar which is based on lunar phases and solar solstices. This year Chinese New Year will take place on February 8, 2016!
